Seminars and Workshops
On June 27, 2016, we were honored to hold a joint seminar about estate planning and retirement with Marianne E. Kreisher, ESQ, CELA. Clients of both Appelman Financial and the law office of Kreisher and Gregorowicz were invited to attend this educational workshop to review steps that can be taken to properly establish estate and retirement framework. This meeting was held at Buckhorn Community Volunteer Fire Company #1 and it was a treat to present with the only current certified elder law attorney in Columbia and Montour Counties.
Lynn typically speaks to Bloomsburg University classes about once a year. On April 25th, 2016, Lynn was invited to present to a class of Dr. Christine Haririan, instructor in the Department of Management and Marketing. On this visit, he was asked to speak about retirement planning and the important need to start early. Here he is pictured at BU with Dr. Victoria Geyfman, instructor of Finance, plus a picture with one of her classes that he presented to. He really enjoyed listening to the college students' thought processes and their interesting line of questions.
On April 18th, 2016, Appelman Financial was pleased to hold a seminar called "Looking Ahead to 2016". This important event was held at the Buckhorn Community Volunteer Fire Company #1. Besides presenting a recap of last year, the session also included an update for 2016 and it's rough start plus important strategies that investors should know.
Appelman Financial was pleased to present a Medicare & Social Security Workshop to our clients plus this special event was open to the community as well. It was held on April 1st, 2015 at the Hampton Inn in Bloomsburg. We were excited to host again an incredibly knowledgeable guest speaker—Sandy Darlington of the local Area Agency on Aging office joined us to discuss Medicare Supplemental Health Coverage. Alissa Conklin also addressed some common Social Security issues for those in attendance. We were glad to see such a nice-sized crowd at such an informative event!
What a lovely evening out with friends during our Women, Wine and Investing event held on June 27th, 2014 at the beautiful Pine Barn Inn. The evening started with Pennsylvania College of Technology professor Neal Palmer, FMP Sommelier, and his educational wine tasting paired with appetizers. Alissa Conklin followed up with an investment workshop teaching valuable tools and strategies that can help ladies take control of their financial futures. Alissa was pleased that it could be both a fun and educational event as helping women with their financial goals is her passion.
