The "What Happens..." Letter
“What happens to my account in the event that
something happens to my Financial Advisor?”
Many of my clients have been asking me this very important question. For those of you who have
not asked, I know you are thinking it! I want to put you at ease by explaining what will happen in
the event of my death or serious disability. Please remember that you own your account. You
have the option of changing advisors on these accounts any time you wish. In the event that
something should happen to incapacitate me, you may find another advisor to manage your
accounts, or you may choose to remain with Appelman Financial.
My business plan has established my daughter, Alissa Conklin, as the person who will
automatically take over the management of my clients' accounts in the event that I am unable to
do so. Alissa has been intensively involved in the day-to-day running of our business for the last
nine years. At this time, she is the account representative on about half of our business’s
clients. Alissa is an Investment Advisor Representative, Registered Paraplanner, and
Securities Licensed Representative. In addition, she completes the bulk of the tax preparation
work for our office. Her diversified experience, coupled with directed training from me, makes
her a fine choice to continue as your financial advisor.
Hopefully this information has been helpful to you. We look forward to a long-lasting relationship
with our clients that will carry on for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Lynn C. Appelman, CFP® & ChFC®
