We hosted our first Candlelighter Dinner for our Platinum Clients on April 5th
at Balzano's Corner Gathering in Bloomsburg.  It was a gorgeous, intimate space
with absolutely delicious Italian food on the menu with desserts to just die for!  We
had 55 attendees including clients plus some friends and family members present
for a very nice evening out.  Lynn did a current market review presentation, but the
bulk of the night was spent mingling and eating, and eating, and did we mention
eating?  Thanks so much to all of those who attended--we hope you had as nice a
time as we did.


Wahoo!...Our other favorite big event was a special Client Round-Up for
our Gold Medal Service clients.  We had a delicious western-themed
buffet at the Danville Elks equipped with a bluegrass band!  It seemed that
everyone that attended had a rootin' tootin' good time!  In fact, one client sent
us a thank-you note after the big evening and wrote "We don't know who was
responsible for the theme, but it was great fun.  We lead a boring life--and
that was about as wild as we'll ever get."

Appelman Financial was pleased to offer a special Identity Theft Workshop on
the evening of May 29, 2008 at Portabella Catering in Lightstreet.  We had 55
attendees, either clients or interested community members, join us for a special
presentation provided by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) followed by
refreshments and dessert.  In this presentation titled "Deter, Detect, Defend--
How to Protect Your Identity", our guests were able to learn about the basics
about identity theft and steps people can take to reduce their risk and protect
their identity.  We felt it was an important financial topic to discuss as according
to the FTC it effects as many as 10 million Americans each year!

For the 2nd year, Appelman Financial proudly sponsored its Client Appreciation
Movie Event.  For this year's treat, we invited our Platinum, Gold and Silver
Clients to see Paramount's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  
We met at the Bloomsburg Cinema Center on the afternoon of Saturday, June 7th
and had over 250 people in attendance.  We even overflowed our private theater
and had to send some clients with their friends and family to the public theater for a
same time showing!  Everyone seemed to have a fun time as it was definitely a
hang on to your hat kind of movie!!!

On Thursday, August 21st, 2008, Appelman Financial sponsored a very
important seminar in conjunction with the local Area Aging Office. The event
was held at Portabella Catering in Lightstreet.  The special evening was
dedicated to Medicare basics, purchasing supplemental insurance, and the
Medicare drug program as well as Long-Term Care Insurance and the PACE
and PACE Net programs.  Sandy Darlington's presentation was pure gold as
she discussed issues Lynn felt all senior citizens need to know about.  Watch
next year for our upcoming informational workshops for clients and community
